Eleh! A Malay poem by Yasmin Ahmad

Monday, June 20th, 2005

Was browsing thru Yasmin Ahmad Blog and i found something funny to share. A Malay poem  creatively written.

Eleh!

Eleh!
You tu memang gitu.
Kejap nak,
kejap tak nak.
Takut I sentuh,
takut I tak sentuh.
Bila I chakap hello,
you mengeluh.
Bila I chakap bye-bye,
you berserabai.

Sudahlah.
I dah malas.
Tak de masa.
Banyak kerja lain.
Banyak mata lain
yang gian nak
ber-tango
dengan mata I.
Banyak lidah lain
yang hauskan
bibir I.

Bibir I yang tebal tak tebal,
nipis tak nipis.
Senyum atau chemik,
sentiasa manis.
Bibir yang basah
berginchu merah,
cherah secherah-cherahnya.

Bayangkan,
seperti yang you pernah bayangkan.
Bibir I, di bibir you.
Bibir I, di telinga you.
Di leher you.
Di dada you.
Di perut you.
Di pusat you.
Di peha you.
Di sana you
dan di situ you.

Bayangkanlah.
Jangan malu-malu.
Bukan I tak tahu.
Memang you pernah bayangkan dulu.

Eleh!
You tu memang gitu.
Dah tahu
buat tak tahu.

Hek Eleh,
Bukan I tak mahu
Bukannya u tak tahu
I ni kan pemalu
Cuba nak bagitahu
Tapi u nampak pura-pura tak lalu

Sudahlah tu
Jangan begitu
Kalau u dah malas
Macam mana I nak balas
Kalau u begitu
I akan terkedu
Banyak kerja lain?
Kemana? Sidai Kain?
Kalau gitu
Macam mana nak main?
Apa kata ditepi penyidai kain?
Kita main saing-saing

I tau banyak mata lain
Tapi yang sepet ni jugak yang lain
Mata yang u puja
Buatkan hati u teruja

Tapi apa kan daya
Mata yang u puja
Bibir yang I teruja
Kini masing-masing dah berpunya

Sekarang ni bukan I malu
Tapi sekarang dah tak macam dulu
Bukannya u tak tahu
I bukannya solo macam dulu
Dan u tak single selalu

Memang I selalu bayangkan
Bibir u dibibir I
Bibir u ditelinga I
Di leher I
Di dada I
Di perut I
Di pusat I
Di peha I
Di mana-mana I

Walau kini kegersangan
Tapi I tetap sayangkan my dian
Tapi I tetap bayangkan my gian

Hek Eleh
Itu lah I nak bagitahu
Kenapa I begitu
Bukannya tak mahu
Tetapi malu

Using Flash During The Day

Interestingly, one of the best uses of your flash is during bright
sunlight! I know it sounds strange but it’s true.

A flash helps to eliminate dark shadows (for instance under the eyes
and chin of faces). It also helps to emphasize your subject.

When you take pictures of subjects with bright light behind them,
for example a portrait that is backlit, or a duck swimming in
water reflecting the sun, the camera will be fooled by the bright
surroundings so the subject appears dark.

By turning flash on, you will fill in the shadow areas making the
picture much more pleasing.

It can also be used to add a sparkle to eyes, and to reduce shadows
under the nose and eyes when pictures are taken when the sun is
bright and high in the sky (eg at midday).

Nature photographers even use flash to ensure the nooks and
crannies of flower petals are properly lit - to reduce shadows.

Professional photographers use flash much more often than amateurs.

Unusual Angles

Most photos are shot at eye level. I think this is because
traditionally, you needed to have the viewvinder up to your eye to
ensure you get everyone in the shot.

Because most digital cameras have an inbuilt LCD, you can now take the
camera away from your eye and try taking photos from unusual angles.

Try tilting the camera left or right to better position your subject
in the frame. Try taking the photo from below, or above your subject.
Try getting further away or closer.

There’s always more than one way to photograph a subject. Using
different camera angles can make an otherwise boring image really
stand out. The more you practice using different angles, the quicker
you’ll know what works and what doesn’t.

Angle Tip : Lie on the ground and point your camera towards the
sky for an interesting angle to shoot large monuments with.

secret for daylight photography!

Use A Tripod

Yes, tripods can be a hassle to carry around with you but they help
you take great shots in two ways.

First, the time you take to get out the tripod, set it up and position
the camera on it will slow your picture taking down. This means you’ll
become more aware of other elements like composition of the image, and
lighting. The more focussed you are to external conditions, the more
likely you will be to take a great shot.

The added advantage is your camera is more steady allowing you to take
razor-sharp images - particularly in low light situations.

An alternative to the tripod is a ‘mono pod’. These only have one
leg and don’t have the stability of a tripod, but they have a greater
stability than just your hands - particularly if you lean them against
something.

If you do a lot of mountain walking, there are also extendable
walking canes‘ (like a ski pole) that are great for helping
you walk up steep hills. The top unscrews to receal a tripod
mount underneath turning it into a mono pod.

Tripod Tip : If you have a lightweight camera, you might consider
purchasing a ultra lightweight tripod. These are small, don’t weigh
much and easily fit in a backpack or camera bag.

Extra Tip : You don’t need to purchase a tripod either! Any horizontal
surface around can make a tripod - arms of chairs, railings, rocks, anything!

Next time : Not happy with the creativity of your shots? This secret
can make your otherwise boring images really stand out!

Nothing much is happenning in my life right now, nothing new ….. Pagi tadi went cycling offroad with Pisha, Eppot and Botak kat Damn Batu. Meet Abang Zahrin kat sana … got a chance to kayak one round and few tips on kayaking. Got all the bikes ready and off we went. Ada la few people yang cycle pagi tu. Sebab start lambat terpaksa la berpanas sedikit. Masa naik bukit tu tak sampai suku jalan dah semput, terpaksa tolak basikal. Tanpa disedari basikal Pisha pancit … moeekeke … apa la nasib Pisha ngan beskal masa Malakoff pon pancit gak. Maybe sebab beskal baru beli dari Nije, belom warm up lagik. Berapa Pish harganyer RM_ _ _ _._ _. FuuuHHhh .But anyway its a good buy.Nasib baik Botak bawak tiub ngan pam (maybe dah serik menolak beskal dari dalam tu … moekekke). Siap tukar tiub sendiri tu Pisha .. cayalah … we depend on you lah AXN nanti .. women team .. moekeke .. Lepas dah habis tukar tayar malas pulak nak continue so kitaorang patah balik, lagipon matahari dah terik. Singgah makan mee bandung muar kat Selayang (so far yg paling sedap pernahku rasa di KL nie).

Malam, makan kat Melawati sambil tengok gambar yg dah tertunggak dicuci. Gambar dari kenduri Mat Pet, gambar naik Bukit Tabo, gambar naik Gunung Buah hinggalah ke gambar Benom, Malakoff. Banyak betul, baru ader duit nak cuci gambar sejak baru stat keje nie … Million Thanks to Miss Fadiya Ayesha for the recommendation.

Saper nak tengok gambar tu singgah la di Fotopages hamba…….

Destination  : Kuantan
Event         :
Ambik gambar orang khawin.

Bertolak dari KL dalam pukul 5 petang, budget nak sampai
rumah pengantin sebelum majlis akad nikah. Ahli rombongan : Teh Fathonah bte

sebagai co-pilot dan Adelin sebagai penyebok kasi semak itu kereta.

Dah half way thru keta bole rosak pulak dekat highway

pikir aper nak buat, macam-macam la suggestion … suruh Pisha ngan Maznie datang
ambik la … siap suruh bawak dua kereta so that one car bole pegi terus to the wedding
and the other one balik KL balik. Tengah tunggu punya tunggu nasib baik ader
towing car lalu. Dia cakap dia bole repair dalam masa 4 jam tapi kena tarik
bawak bengkel. Bengkel dia kat Temerloh. Aper nak buat …. Kira-kira ader la
dalam 800 lebeh kena bayar belom plus upah lagik. Nasib baik la masing-masing
dah dapat gaji (kecuali aku yg tak bekerja nie). Terpaksa telepon pengantin
cakap cannot make it tonite. Nasib baik diorang understanding (note: pengatin
tu kawan nyer Teh). As I’m writing this am sitting down kat depan bengkel
Victory Car Servicing & Repairing Centre, Botak ngan Padel tengah
bertinggung tengok Apek tu betul keta. Si The pulak tengak megilatkan kuku
maklum la pengapit kena cantik2. tapi pengatinnyer tengah akad nikah pengapit
dok kat bengkel keta. Hmmmmm

Biler nak siap tak tau la. Sekarang pukul 9.30, lagi 2 jam

Nak makan tadi dah makan burger, murah giler burger special
2 ringgit jer. Nama kampung nie kakak burger tu kater Kg Semantan.

4 hours later we r ready to go. Arrived at Kuantan bout 11
o’clock. Check in .. take a bath and had our dinner.

Woke up at 8 the morning as we r supposed to at the bride’s
house at 9. Majlis Khatam Quran followed by the wedding ceremony. Petang tu
hujan lebat la pulak tak sempat la nak pegi jalan-jalan. By the way thanks to
the lovely hospitality by the bride and groom. So we packed our stuff and head
back to KL. Hoping that it will be a smooth drive be a smooth drive back home.

I guess it just doesn’t end there. Tempreature naik … again
we r stuck. Tak sampai 15 minit tow truck sampai. But we don’t think that we need
any assistant, we just need to wait for the tempreture to go down. After waited
a while, start the car and off we go. Sampai rumah dalam pukul 9 lebih, dah
takder mood nak singgah makan. Aper nak buat COBAAN.
